Very safe and quiet neighbourhood in our charming 275 inhabitants village. Picturesque zócalo, lovely little church, small administration "Palacio Municipal", hills, mountain views, fields and lots of nature: natural plants, birds, cows, boregos and wide sky, with a view of up to 16 km to the Cerro de Fortin and Monte Alban.

(bus & colectivo stop) MACROPLAZA / Walmart, plenty of shopping opportunities for groceries, clothes, cinema, healt & organic (vegan) shops, Coppel, cinema, restaurants and more.
Oaxaca historic city center
Walking distance around 20 minutes. Colectivos / bus: frequently, cheap (around 15 Pesos) from the 7am - 10pm
Alternative is a private cab drive (aprox. 350MxP)
On your way back home, you can ask the RETIRO cab driver if he can bring you to Santa Catalina de Sena, normally they like and charge additional 50 Pesos for a private ride.
By bicycle:
Teotitlan / Tlacolula / Mitla
bus (around 30 Pesos) stops where the PEMEX deposit is, short after the highway and the Federal No 190 comes together. Alternative is a private cab drive (aprox. 300MxP)
Retiro Mercado
Margarita Maza de Juarez in el Retiro which is a part of Santa Maria del Tule.
A nice daily market with a good selection of regional products, like Oaxaca cheese, spices, familiar restaurants, pharmacies, will cover almost all necessities.

and vegtable & fruit shop. The mini super has all the basic things.
