Mitla
The name Mitla comes from the Nahuatl name Mictlán "place of the dead" and is unique among Mesoamerican sites because of its elaborate geometric designs that cover tombs and walls of the complex. Mitla is one of the six magical towns of Oaxaca, famous for its handmade textiles, embroidered pieces, and mezcal.
